Los Gigantes Cliffs (Acantilados de Los Gigantes)

Towering basalt cliffs rising vertically from the Atlantic Ocean to heights of up to 600 metres — among the highest sea cliffs in Europe. The name "Los Gigantes" (The Giants) reflects their immense scale. The cliffs are part of the Teno Rural Park (8,063 hectares of protected land). The town of Los Gigantes below features a marina and a small black sand beach (Playa de Los Guíos) with a stunning backdrop of the cliff wall. Boat trips from the marina offer the best perspective of the cliffs from the water, with opportunities to spot dolphins and pilot whales that frequent the waters between Tenerife and La Gomera. The viewing platform (Mirador de Los Gigantes) on the TF-454 road provides a panoramic overview. The cliffs are especially dramatic at sunset when the rock glows golden-orange.
