The most visited attraction in the Canary Islands with over 1 million visitors annually. Located in Puerto de la Cruz, this zoo and conservation park has been consistently rated among the best zoos worldwide by TripAdvisor. Originally founded in 1972 as a parrot sanctuary, it has expanded to house a diverse collection of animals. Key exhibits: Planet Penguin (the world's largest penguin exhibit, recreating Antarctic conditions at -2°C with real snow), the Katandra Treetops aviary, a shark tunnel aquarium, dolphin and sea lion shows, and an impressive orca (killer whale) show. The park is also a major conservation and breeding centre for endangered parrot species. Entry: ~€38 adults. Combo ticket with Siam Park: ~€65. Allow 5–6 hours for a full visit. Free train from Plaza Reyes Católicos in central Puerto de la Cruz.
