Las Teresitas Beach (Playa de Las Teresitas)

A 1.3 km-long golden sand beach situated in the village of San Andrés, about 8 km north of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Unlike the island's natural black volcanic beaches, Las Teresitas was created in 1973 with approximately 270,000 tons of golden sand imported from the Sahara Desert. A 1 km-long breakwater protects the bay, creating calm, shallow waters ideal for swimming year-round. The beach is backed by a palm-lined promenade with ample free parking, restaurants, and changing facilities. The dramatic Anaga Mountains rise behind the beach, creating a spectacular setting. The beach is fully accessible with wooden boardwalks and amphibious chairs available. The nearby village of San Andrés is known for fresh seafood restaurants. Bus 910 connects the beach to central Santa Cruz (15 minutes).
