Los Gigantes Cliffs

One of the most dramatic sunset locations in the Canary Islands — the Acantilados de Los Gigantes (Cliffs of the Giants) rise 500–600 meters vertically from the Atlantic on Tenerife's west coast, their dark volcanic walls turning shades of gold, copper, and deep red as the setting sun illuminates them from the west. The best viewpoints are from the marina and promenade in the town of Los Gigantes, where the cliffs form an immense natural amphitheater. For the most spectacular experience, take a late-afternoon boat tour — local operators run 2–3 hour 'sunset cruises' that take you directly under the cliffs as they glow in the golden hour light, with the island of La Gomera visible on the horizon adding depth to the panorama. Dolphins and pilot whales are frequently spotted on these cruises, making for an extraordinary combined wildlife-and-sunset experience. The town of Los Gigantes itself has several rooftop bars and restaurants with cliff-view terraces perfect for a sunset drink. The viewpoint at the top of the cliffs (Mirador de Archipenque) provides a different perspective — looking down at the marina and out across the boundlessness of the Atlantic.
