Lanzarote's premier nightlife destination — the Avenida de las Playas (Avenue of the Beaches) in Puerto del Carmen is a 6 km beachfront strip lined with bars, clubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues overlooking the Atlantic. The strip is divided into two zones: the 'Old Town' (Puerto del Carmen Viejo) around the original fishing harbor with traditional seafood restaurants and relaxed cocktail terraces, and the 'New Town' (from Playa Grande eastward) which is the main entertainment zone. The New Town features dozens of venues including Centro Atlántico (multi-level complex with bars and clubs), La Delicatezza (cocktail lounge), Waikiki Beach Club (chilled daytime bar), and a high concentration of Irish pubs (Crazy Horse, The Dubliner, Betty Boops) hosting live sports, karaoke, and live music. Unlike the mega-clubs of Tenerife, Puerto del Carmen's nightlife is more bar-oriented with music venues, pub crawls, and relaxed cocktail terraces. The strip attracts a predominantly British, Irish, and German crowd aged 20–50. Prices are moderate (€2.50–4 for beer, €5–8 for cocktails). The beachfront setting means many venues offer sea-view terraces. The area is well-policed and family-friendly during the day, transforming after 10 PM. The nearby Biosfera Plaza adds open-air entertainment. Nightly entertainment is available year-round but busiest July–September and during the February Carnival. Happy hours run 5–8 PM in most bars.
