Playa Blanca

Lanzarote's southernmost resort town, facing Fuerteventura across the 11 km-wide La Bocaina Strait. From a small fishing village, Playa Blanca has grown into an upscale resort while retaining a relaxed family-oriented atmosphere. The town features three main beaches connected by a promenade: Playa Blanca (the main town beach), Playa Dorada (golden sand), and Playa Flamingo (sheltered cove ideal for families). The Marina Rubicón is a modern marina complex with designer shops, restaurants, bars, and a popular Saturday market. Ferries to Corralejo (Fuerteventura) depart from the harbour (25 minutes crossing). The town is the gateway to the Papagayo beaches (10–15 minute drive on unpaved roads) and the Los Ajaches Natural Monument. The Rubicon Marina area is home to the 16th-century Castillo de las Coloradas (Torre del Águila), a coastal defence tower. Excellent seafood restaurants line the waterfront promenade.
