La Palma's most resort-like area, located on the east coast just south of the airport. Los Cancajos is a small but popular tourist zone with a volcanic black-sand beach, a coastal promenade, and a modest concentration of bars and restaurants that make it the island's closest equivalent to a 'nightlife strip.' The beachfront promenade features several chill-out cocktail bars and terraces where visitors can enjoy sunset drinks with views across the Atlantic — on clear days, the outline of Tenerife and Mount Teide is visible on the horizon. Popular venues include the beachside chiringuitos (beach bars) and several hotel bars open to non-guests. During summer months, the promenade hosts occasional live DJ sets, acoustic performances, and small open-air events. The area attracts a younger crowd than Santa Cruz, including surfers who frequent the nearby surf breaks on the east coast. Los Cancajos is the best option on La Palma for those seeking a beach-bar evening in a relaxed setting, but expect a quieter and more low-key atmosphere than the party zones of Tenerife or Gran Canaria. Combine with afternoon snorkeling or diving at the Los Cancajos beach (one of La Palma's best snorkeling spots for marine life). Bars typically operate until midnight–1 AM. The promenade is well-lit, flat, and accessible. Parking available along the coast road. A 10-minute drive from Santa Cruz de La Palma. Bus service available (Line 500 from Santa Cruz).
