Puerto Naos (Beach Resort & Longest Beach)

La Palma's longest beach at 470 metres of dark volcanic sand on the sunny west coast, and the island's main beach resort area. The beach is backed by a palm-lined promenade with restaurants, cafés, and shops. The water is generally calm and clear, making it excellent for swimming and snorkelling. Blue Flag certified. Facilities include sunbed and umbrella rental, showers, accessible boardwalks, and ample free parking. Puerto Naos was, before the 2021 Tajogaite volcanic eruption, the primary tourist zone on western La Palma. While the beach and resort infrastructure were not damaged by the lava flows, access was restricted for an extended period due to volcanic gases (CO₂) in the surrounding area. As of 2026, most areas are reopened though visitors should check local access advisories. The beach offers the best swimming and sunbathing conditions on the island due to the west coast's warmer, drier climate and protected bay. Several diving centres operate from Puerto Naos, offering PADI courses and guided dives along volcanic reefs.
