Charco Verde (Green Pool & Protected Cove)

A small, sheltered cove just south of Puerto Naos, famous for its natural green-coloured pool — the Charco Verde (Green Pool). The pool is a partially enclosed natural volcanic rock basin filled with seawater, tinted green by a combination of algae, minerals, and the reflection of surrounding vegetation. The adjoining beach is a small black sand cove protected by lava rock formations, creating calm, shallow waters ideal for families with children and safe swimming. The name "Charco Verde" comes from the distinctive green hue of the water. The area features a small car park, a beachside café, and basic facilities. The volcanic rock formations around the cove create interesting snorkelling opportunities in calm conditions. The location offers views of the Cumbre Vieja ridge and sunset over the Atlantic. Due to its protected nature, Charco Verde is one of the safest swimming spots on La Palma's west coast. Access is via the LP-213 road from Puerto Naos heading south.
