Mirador de Abrante (Abrante Viewpoint)
A spectacular glass-floored viewpoint (balcony-mirador) extending over a cliff edge at approximately 600 metres above sea level, directly above the town of Agulo on La Gomera's north coast. Inaugurated in 2018 and designed by architect José Luis Bermejo, the viewpoint's walkway extends 7 metres beyond the cliff edge with a fully transparent glass floor and glass balustrades. Looking down through the glass, you see the town of Agulo — known as "El Balcón Verde" (The Green Balcony) — 600 metres below, and the Atlantic Ocean stretching to the horizon. On clear days, Mount Teide (3,718 m) on Tenerife is visible rising above the sea across the channel. The viewpoint is operated by the Fred Olsen Group and includes a small café/restaurant. Entry costs approximately €2 (redeemable against purchases in the café). The site is wheelchair-accessible. Open daily, hours vary by season.
