Parque Marítimo de San Sebastián
La Gomera's main public aquatic leisure facility — a well-maintained saltwater swimming pool complex located right on the waterfront of the island capital San Sebastián, directly across from the ferry port. The Parque Marítimo features a large Olympic-length main pool for lap swimming, a medium-depth leisure pool, and a dedicated children's paddling pool with a gentle slope and a mushroom fountain that toddlers adore. The children's pool is 30–50 cm deep, fenced, and shaded by palm trees — safe for the youngest visitors. The complex offers stunning views across the harbor to Mount Teide on Tenerife (spectacular when the volcano is snow-capped in winter). Facilities include sunbathing terraces with free sunbeds, showers, changing rooms with lockers (small fee), a café-bar serving snacks, sandwiches, ice creams, and cold drinks, and a small playground adjacent to the pool area. The park is exceptionally affordable compared to commercial water parks: adult entry approximately €3.50, children €2.50, making it one of the best-value family activities in the Canary Islands. Lifeguards are on duty during opening hours. Open daily year-round (10 AM–8 PM summer, 10 AM–6 PM winter). The park is particularly useful for La Gomera visitors because the island lacks commercial water parks or large theme parks — this is the only pool complex open to the public. A 5-minute walk from San Sebastián's town center, the bus station, and the ferry terminal. Best visited on weekdays; weekends can be busier with local families. Combine with a visit to the nearby Torre del Conde fortress and a stroll along the palm-lined Avenida de Colón promenade.
