Playa de Güigüí (Remote Wild Beach)

One of the last truly wild and unspoiled beaches in Gran Canaria, located on the remote north-west coast within the Güigüí Special Nature Reserve (Reserva Natural Especial de Güigüí). The beach features dramatic dark volcanic sand backed by towering cliffs and the island's western mountain range. Access is only possible in two ways: by boat from Puerto de las Nieves in Agaete (30–40 minutes, seasonal services) or via a demanding 5-hour round-trip hike from the village of Tasartico. The hiking route requires good fitness, sturdy boots, and careful navigation — there is no phone signal in the ravine. There are absolutely no facilities, no lifeguards, and no shade — visitors must carry all water, food, and supplies. The reward is complete solitude on one of the most dramatically beautiful beaches in Europe. Strong Atlantic currents make swimming dangerous; wading only is recommended. Nudism is common due to the beach's remote nature. This is a place for experienced hikers and nature purists.
