Aqualand Maspalomas
Gran Canaria's largest water park, established in 1983 and consistently expanded, located next to Palmitos Park (combo tickets available). Aqualand features 33 water slides and attractions spread across terraced hillside levels. Key attractions: Tornado (a giant funnel slide for two-person rafts), Anaconda (multi-lane racing slide), Mamut (family raft ride through darkness), Aquamania (the lazy river circuit), and the Wave Pool. For younger children, the Mini Park zone offers scaled-down slides, shallow splash pools, water fountains, and a pirate-ship-themed play structure designed exclusively for children under 10. The park provides free sunbeds, lockers (small charge), several restaurants offering kids' menus, and picnic areas. What distinguishes Aqualand from Siam Park (Tenerife): it is generally less expensive, less crowded, and more focused on families with younger children rather than thrill-seekers. The terraced layout provides some natural shade from the surrounding hills. The park is well-maintained despite its age. Open daily 10 AM–5 PM (June–September until 6 PM). Tickets: €29 adults, €20 children (5–12), free under 5. Online discounted tickets typically save 20–25%. Free parking. A shuttle bus operates from Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas, and San Agustín for a small fee. Average visit: 4–6 hours. A good tip: arrive early and do the most popular slides first — the Tornado and Anaconda build queues from midday.
