Category: sports-and-activities 28°07'33.6"N 14°13'30.0"W | Jandía Peninsula, south coast

Home of the Fuerteventura PWA Windsurfing World Cup held annually for over 30 years at Risco del Paso. The 10 km beach forms a shallow turquoise lagoon at low tide that extends hundreds of metres, creating flat-water speed strips ideal for slalom and speed windsurfing. The lagoon is also a world-class freestyle kitesurfing destination. Consistent trade winds (15–35 knots) blow side-shore from the left, creating safe and predictable conditions. René Egli Windsurf & Kite Center at the north end of the beach (Risco del Paso) is a major training facility with extensive rental fleets (windsurf, kitesurf, wingfoil). Additional surf schools at Playa de la Barca and Playa de Esquinzo. Best conditions: May–September. Spectator viewing is free from the FV-2 road and designated beach areas.
