<p>More variable than most Canary Islands — exposed westernmost position catches Atlantic weather first. North/Northeast (Valverde): 400-600mm rain, cooler cloudier, lush vegetation, 15-22°C. South/Southwest (La Restinga): 150-250mm, sunniest warmest, arid volcanic, 20-28°C — sheltered from trade winds (Mar de las Calmas). El Golfo valley (Frontera): warmer, mid-rainfall, pineapple/vineyards. Summits (1,501m): 10-20°C, frost rare in winter. Windy island — small size doesn block trades.</p>
