Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The capital and largest city of Tenerife, home to approximately 210,000 residents. The city is the island's commercial and administrative hub, with the Auditorio de Tenerife — designed by Santiago Calatrava — as its most iconic landmark. Plaza de España, rebuilt in 2007 with a large artificial lake, anchors the waterfront. The port is one of Spain's busiest cruise ship destinations, handling over 700,000 cruise passengers annually. The city also hosts the second-largest Carnival celebration in the world after Rio de Janeiro.
