Costa Teguise
A purpose-built resort on Lanzarote's eastern coast, designed in the 1970s to disperse tourism from the south. Home to the island's only water park (Aquapark Costa Teguise) and a championship 18-hole golf course. The resort is one of the world's premier windsurfing destinations, with reliable trade winds attracting the Windsurfing World Championships to Las Cucharas beach annually. The nearby Castillo de Santa Bárbara (16th century, now a pirate museum) offers panoramic island views from Mount Guanapay (452m).
