Hermigua
A lush valley municipality on La Gomera's north coast, known for its dramatic landscape of steep terraced hillsides — the island's largest banana-growing area. The valley contains the island's two highest peaks visible simultaneously (Alto de Garajonay and Roque de Agando). Key features include the 16th-century Iglesia de la Encarnación and the Convento de Santo Domingo (early 17th century). The Bosque del Cedro hike starts from Hermigua and enters the Garajonay National Park through ancient laurel forest. The valley produces excellent palm honey (miel de palma), a La Gomera specialty. The natural pools of El Pescante offer swimming at the valley mouth.
