Valle Gran Rey
A stunning valley on La Gomera's southwestern coast, composed of several coastal villages (La Playa, La Calera, Vueltas, El Borbalán) nestled between towering volcanic cliffs and terraced palm groves. The valley is the island's main tourist area, known for its black sand beaches, bohemian atmosphere, and spectacular sunsets. Playa del Inglés and Playa de Vueltas are the main beaches. The area is popular with German visitors and expats, and has a strong alternative/hippie culture dating from the 1970s. The valley offers excellent hiking trails, whale-watching boat trips from the harbour, and numerous seafront restaurants serving fresh local fish.
