Pico de las Nieves
Gran Canaria's highest point at 1,949m, accessible by car via the GC-130 and GC-134 roads to within 50m of the summit. The short walk to the viewpoint offers panoramic views of the entire island, the Roque Nublo, and on clear days, Mount Teide on Tenerife. A military radar installation occupies the true summit, but the adjacent mirador provides the best views. Nearby, the S-51 trail connects Pico de las Nieves to Roque Nublo (approx. 5 km one way, moderate). Camping is allowed at the nearby Llanos de la Pez recreational area (permit required from Cabildo). Temperatures can drop to 5°C even in summer — bring layers.
