Guayadeque Ravine
A lush, palm-filled ravine designated a Natural Monument, cutting 15 km through eastern Gran Canaria from the summit to Ingenio. The ravine was a major pre-Hispanic settlement with over 500 cave dwellings, some still inhabited today. The S-30 trail follows the ravine floor for 8 km one way with minimal elevation change, rated easy. Highlights include the troglodyte chapel (Ermita de San Bartolomé), several cave restaurants (Restaurante Vega, Tagoror) serving traditional Canarian food, and the Guayadeque Museum interpreting the indigenous Canarii culture. The area is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2019. Access via GC-103 road with parking at several points.
