Las Canteras
One of the world's finest urban beaches, stretching 3.1 km along the Las Palmas waterfront. Protected by La Barra, a natural lava rock reef 200m offshore that creates a calm lagoon ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and stand-up paddleboarding year-round. The beach is divided into sections: La Cícer (popular surfing spot at the southern end), Peña la Vieja (central, family area), and La Puntilla (northern end, traditional fishing quarter). Blue Flag certified with full accessibility, showers, and a palm-lined promenade with over 100 restaurants and bars. The annual WOMAD music festival takes place here each November.
