Sotavento Beach
A spectacular 10 km stretch of white sand beach on the southern coast of the Jandía Peninsula, famous for its shallow turquoise lagoon formed at low tide when the water recedes hundreds of metres. The lagoon is a world-renowned windsurfing and kitesurfing destination — the PWA Windsurfing World Cup has been held here annually for over 30 years at the Risco del Paso section. The beach is divided into several named sections: Playa de la Barca, Playa de Risco del Paso, and Playa de Esquinzo. The beach is backed by the Jandía mountains. Facilities include sunbed rental, beach bars (chiringuitos), and multiple access points from the FV-2 road.
