Puerto del Rosario

The capital of Fuerteventura since 1860, home to approximately 41,000 residents. Originally called Puerto de Cabras (Goat Port), it was renamed in 1956. The city features over 100 open-air sculptures along its streets as part of an ongoing public art project. Key landmarks include the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (19th century), the Casa Museo Miguel de Unamuno (where the Spanish philosopher stayed during his 1924 exile), and the working port with ferry connections to Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
