The smallest and most affordable property market in the Canary Islands. Valverde apartments (1-bed): €40,000–€80,000; 2-bed: €60,000–€120,000. La Restinga apartments (1-bed): €50,000–€100,000. Rural fincas in El Golfo/Frontera: €60,000–€200,000 depending on land and condition. Purchase costs: ITP 6.5% (resale) or IGIC 7% + AJD 0.75% (new build). The market is almost entirely local with very few foreign buyers. Properties are rarely listed online — most transactions occur through word of mouth or local estate agents. El Hierro offers the lowest entry price for property in the Canary Islands, but also the most limited rental market and lowest resale liquidity.
